About Me
We should read to give our souls a chance to luxuriate. ~Henry Miller
Almost all book worms have some sort of interesting, complex, intriguing tale of their first encounter with a book.
I have none.
In fact, I don’t even remember the first book I bought (or read for that matter). I don’t know what sparked my interest in books, nor do I know how I managed to convince my parents to spend money on something that I could probably get in the library. All I know is that I was – and still am- hungry for knowledge. Books are both a gateway to attaining knowledge but also escaping into different worlds.
In theory, I don’t read. Nor does anyone with a passion for books. A book hater reads. How? In the sense that when I open a book, my mind takes over and my eyes simply roll over the words, instantly and simultaneously, creating the characters strong and the environment so rich, that it’s like a movie before me. But because it’s a popular (and normal) term to use, I guess I love to “read” then.
A big fan of drama fiction (think Dave Hill and Tony Parsons), you will find that many of the books that I will write about will be along the same path as “The Road”, “To kil a Mockingbird”, “Man and Boy” etc. However, it doesn’t mean I wont be writing on chick lit, guy lit (yes, there is something as guy lit), non-fiction (personal fav.) , thrillers/horrors etc etc… . So expect to find the sorts of Jurassic Park AND The Adultery Club on this blog.
My relationship with books is not as complex as some people like to think it is. I love books. Period.
How hard can that be?
